Fantini Natural gas detector: advanced protection and safe alarming
Advanced protection with SICURGAS
The SICURGAS detector is a reliable device that detects the presence of Natural gas and LPG thanks to a high-precision catalytic sensor. The built-in alarm system alerts immediately with light and sound signals when the gas concentration exceeds safe levels.
Light and sound signals
SICURGAS is equipped with three LEDs for clear monitoring of the detector status:
-
Green LED: indicates correct operation of the device
-
Yellow LED: indicates a fault in the detector
-
Red LED: lights up in case of hazardous gas detection
In addition to the visual warning, the device is equipped with an audible alarm to promptly warn of danger
Detector Operation
SICURGAS is a device that by means of a highly sensitive probe reveals the presence of dangerous concentrations of NATURAL gas and LPG. Sicurgas comes complete with two internal alarms: one luminous and one acoustic. SICURGAS intervenes with a PREALARM when the gas concentration is far below the lower explosive limit L.I.E.), immediately turning on the red light and activating a possible signaling device (e.g.: modem).
If the pre-alarm state persists and consequently the concentration increases as a function of L.I.E., the alarm intervenes in which, in addition to the visual signal, an acoustic signal is also activated to warn of the danger, at the same time SICURGAS triggers a relay to control a gas shutoff valve.
The Sicurgas sensor, like all sensors currently on the market, while very selective, can also intervene for other substances such as, for example, alcohol vapors. It is equipped with an alarm silencing switch that can be operated with a cord for Natural gas (mounted on the top 30 cm from the ceiling). Note: The silencing button must be pressed for at least 1 second.
After the silencing button is actuated, there is a non-alarm situation for 10 minutes: the buzzer does not sound, the relay returns to the non-alarm position, and the red and yellow LEDs, flash alternately to indicate the silencing period; acting on the switch again during the 10-minute silencing period, the detector immediately resumes normal operation. After the 10-minute period has passed, the detector automatically resumes normal operation.
It is therefore possible, knowing that you are going to use substances that may cause a false alarm, to silence the detector in advance to avoid signaling and stove gas shut-off (due to the tripping of the gas shut-off valve). Some of the most common substances that can cause a false alarm are:
-
Wine, liquor, alcohol, deodorants, stain removers, paint thinners, hairspray, excess water vapor
Sicurgas' internal relay can control all types of manual reset valves:
-
Normally closed (NC), always energized, requiring a stable switching relay
-
Normally open (NO), current-throwing, requiring a pulse relay
-
Standards prescribe the use of a manual reset valve to cut off the gas supply when an alarm situation occurs
The operating mode of the relay is selectable at the time of installation by moving a jumper on the printed circuit board, normally provided:
-
For stable relay operation for NC valves (jumper down)
-
For operation with pulse relay for NO valves (jumper on top)
With normally closed valves, always energized, the system provides maximum safety; in fact, the gas flow will be interrupted in case of:
-
Exceeding the expected gas concentration threshold
-
Lack of general supply voltage either to the valve alone or to the detector
-
Interruption of the connection between detector and valve
