As a result of the latest regulatory developments, the cables used in a fire alarm detection and warning system will necessarily have to comply with the new product standard CEI 20-105V2, test methodology CEI EN 50200 and EU regulation 305:2011 according to Euroclass Cca s1b d1 a1.

These characteristics guarantee not only the maintenance of the functionality of the installation under fire conditions, but also the safety for the people present according to the new indications introduced by the CPR regulation.

A cable complying with the CEI EN 50200 test methodology, ensures the functionality of the loop during the test for a given period of time (a requirement of uni 9795 PH30) but, as a test method, does not provide indications regarding the construction characteristics i.e. the electrical, transmission and mechanical parameters.

The fire loop is a BUS-type connection on which runs a digital protocol for communication between apparatuses, therefore, if the real need of the manufacturers of apparatuses for fire detection systems is to connect the system with cables with specific electrical performance in addition to ensuring fire resistance for a given period of time, it is the responsibility of the individual manufacturers to indicate, in addition to fire resistance, the requirements necessary for the proper functioning of the system such as two-point shielding, capacitance, inductance, etc. in order to avoid malfunctions.

Characteristics:

  • CPR classification Cca s1b, d1, a1
  • Use with apparatus having operating voltages not exceeding 100 VAC
  • Connection between: control panel and detection points, electric locks, natural smoke and heat evacuators, electromagnets for fire door release
  • Cable for CAT I systems
  • Rated operating voltage Uo/U= 100/100V
  • Rated insulation voltage Uo= 400V
  • Suitable for laying in coexistence with cables for category I systems (e.g., 230V, 400V)
  • Outer sheathing made of Duraflam LSZH red
  • Inner insulation color: 2 conductors red and black
