Ajax MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) detector with camera for alarm verification
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is a wireless motion detector designed primarily for remote locations, warehouses and industrial complexes, but equally suitable for offices and private homes. The device can be installed at heights of 2 and 4 m, providing wide area coverage without blind spots. Thanks to the integrated camera, it is easy to quickly assess the situation of the protected facility. This is possible thanks to the different types of photo-verification available: per alarm, per scenario, per programming, per arming/disarming, and on-demand. The false alarm filter distinguishes non-hazardous factors, such as swinging tree branches or heat flows. The metal swivel bracket allows flexible adjustment of the viewing angle.
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount motion capture with two PIR sensors
Keep any commercial premises secure day or night, without blind spots or false alarms. MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller detects motion at a distance of 15 m. The detector immediately takes a series of photos so the user can verify the reason for the alarm. All alarms are thoroughly checked at both software and hardware levels. At the software level, the device uses algorithms such as SmartDetect and LISA. At the hardware level, it is equipped with two types of sensors-two PIR sensors and a microwave sensor-to provide dual motion detection. In addition, a Fresnel lens distinguishes PIR patterns of people from thermal noise.
Strengths of the Ajax MotionCam Outdoor HighMount detector
PIR Sensors
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is equipped with two PIR sensors that ensure accurate motion detection. One sensor is responsible for motion detection in the near field, while the other detects motion in the long-distance motion detection zone.
K-band microwave sensor
The device responds only when both the PIR and microwave sensors are activated. When the PIR sensor detects the motion of an object with a temperature similar to that of the human body, the device scans the radio waves using the K-band microwave sensor. This is how the dual motion detection technology works. Unlike conventional X-band sensors, the K-band sensor offers higher accuracy and energy efficiency. This results in minimal impact on battery life and a significant reduction in false alarms. In addition, the sensor is completely safe and poses no health threat.
Thermal interference filter
When the system is plugged in, the detector constantly analyzes the thermal pattern of the PIR sensor, including IR radiation intensity, heat spot size, movement speed, time spent in the detection zone, and other parameters. The SmartDetect algorithm filters out potential false activations, such as beacons, lighting devices and heat flows, instantaneously and with great accuracy. As a result, the detector responds accurately to human motion without false alarms.
Temperature compensation
Temperature compensation is a software mechanism that maintains the contrast of the thermal diagram even if the ambient temperature is similar to human body temperature. Each time the ambient temperature is measured, the detector corrects the PIR sensor data according to the coefficient table stored in its memory. The detector is effective over the entire operating temperature range.
Sensitivity level
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller has three sensitivity levels that can be adjusted via an Ajax app. The optimal sensitivity level depends on the type of facility, the presence of potential sources of false alarms, and the characteristics of the protected area. A low sensitivity level is suitable for areas prone to false alarms; a normal sensitivity is ideal for most installations, while a high sensitivity is recommended for unobstructed areas.
Professional installation
Proper installation and configuration of a motion detector is critical to quickly detect threats. MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller should be installed on a vertical surface at a height of 24 m (75 ft). The tilt angle of the device must be adjusted with the swivel bracket. The detector sensors must be oriented toward the intended intrusion path.
Tranquility on demand
- HDR technology for sharp photos
- IR illumination for low-light conditions
- First photo in less than 9 seconds
- Up to 5 photos in a series
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is equipped with a camera to quickly assess the situation in the facility. The device takes a series of photos as soon as it detects motion. A series of photos is combined in a GIF or MP4 format to show how the situation develops in the dynamic. The outdoor detector can take a series of photos at the user's request from an Ajax mobile app, regardless of the security mode. In addition, the device can take photos based on a set schedule, arming/disarming or when selected devices in the system trigger an alarm.
Autonomy at the highest level
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller offers impressive autonomy: up to 3 years of operation with preinstalled batteries. The system notifies a security institution and users of low battery levels in advance.
An external 1224V power supply can be connected to the detector. At this point, the preinstalled batteries can serve as a backup power source. An external power supply is not required to receive OTA updates.
