    The Wilo Stratos MAXO 40/0.5-4 is an inline electronic circulation pump designed for advanced HVAC systems in significant residential, tertiary, and light industrial settings. The heart of the pump is an EC motor with control electronics that continuously adapts performance to the actual demand of the system, reducing energy waste and improving hydraulic stability. It is the ideal solution when reliability, sophisticated adjustments, and integration with building management systems (BMS) are needed.

    Real energy efficiency: Dynamic Adapt plus and low consumption

    The factory setting Wilo-Dynamic Adapt plus achieves a permanent performance adaptation without requiring manual setting of the delivery value. This allows, in many systems, up to 20% energy savings compared to dp-v control, thanks to the ability to follow the hydraulic network and operating conditions.


    The power consumption varies over a very wide range, from 7 W (min) to 130 W (max), useful for covering both partial loads and higher demands without oversizing consumption.

    Compatible with heat, cold, and glycol: one pump for multiple scenarios

    The MAXO is suitable for heating water, cold water, and water-glycol mixtures, making it perfect for systems with heat pumps, mixed circuits, and applications where the fluid temperature varies throughout the year. The liquid temperature range is from -10 °C to 110 °C, while the installation environment is expected between -10 °C and +40 °C.

    Advanced settings for complex systems

    In addition to Dynamic Adapt plus, many control logics are available, including:

    • Constant (dp-c) and variable (dp-v) differential pressure

    • Constant flow (Q-const) and flow limitation with Q-Limit

    • Constant temperature (T-const) and constant T (dT-const)

    • dp-c control at the most unfavorable point (remote point)

    • Constant speed (n-const) and customizable PID

    • Multi-Flow Adaptation to optimize the supply pump flow through communication between multiple pumps

    This flexibility is crucial in networks with two-way valves, zone circuits, collectors, and systems with variable loads, as it allows finding the most stable and efficient mode.

    Protections and functions that simplify maintenance

    • No-Flow Stop: automatic shutdown when there is no demand

    • Dry-running recognition and shutdown/protection

    • Automatic rotor chamber aeration (de-aeration function)

    • Automatic unlocking and integral motor protection

    • Saving and restoring settings (up to 3 points)

    • Fault/warning messages with text and suggestions

    Additionally, there is a provision for switching between heating/cooling operation (automatic, external, or manual), useful for seasonal systems.

    Connectivity and BMS: ready for the smart building

    The described version supports a complete set of I/O and communications:

    • 2 configurable analog inputs (0-10V, 2-10V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA, Pt1000) with +24VDC power supply

    • 2 configurable digital inputs (Ext OFF, Min/Max, hot/cold changeover, lock, override, etc.)

    • 2 configurable alarm relays (fault/operation)

    • Optional CIF module slots (Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet MS/TP/IP, LON, CANopen, etc.)
