Dossena closed toroidal transducer is designed for exclusive use with DER4B series type B differential relays, ensuring accurate detection of differential/homopolar leakage currents to ground, it is the ideal solution for TT and TN electrical systems that require high reliability in differential protection, with the following features:

High-precision toroid for detecting ground leakage

The TB160 exploits a special nano-crystalline magnetic alloy core that ensures high sensitivity to differential currents to ground. This makes it perfect for installations where immediate and reliable identification of electrical faults is required, minimizing the risk of faults and outages.

Compatibility and easy installation

Compatible exclusively with Dossena DER4B differential relays, the transducer must be installed upstream of the loads or lines to be protected. All active conductors (phase and neutral) must pass through the central hole of the toroid, which, thanks to its 160 mm internal diameter, allows easy passage even in complex installations.

Installation is facilitated by panel bottom or DIN rail mounting, with connections via standard 6.3 mm female fastons. Compact design and V0 material enclosure offer high strength and durability.

Maximum safety and certified quality

Each Dossena transducer is individually tested with an advanced computerized system that verifies its integrity and technical compliance. The self-extinguishing plastic housing, combined with short-circuit current tightness up to 80kA, ensures maximum protection even under the most critical conditions.

Installation tips

  • Use twisted and shielded cables between TB80 and DER4B

  • Connect the shield to ground at only one point

  • Avoid sharp cable bends near the transducer

  • The inner diameter of the toroid should be about twice as large as the set of through cables

  • Resistance of each connection less than 0.5

  • Minimize the distance between transducer and relay
