Watts VST diaphragm safety valve F/F 1/2 x 3/4 brass 0212130
Watts VST fixed calibration diaphragm safety valve with the following characteristics:
- Connection: Female/Female
- Fittings: 1/2 x 3/4 inch
- 3 bar
- Brass body and cap
- Fluids: water with up to 50% glycol
- Overpressure: 10%
- Closing gap: 20%
The VST Series safety valves, qualified and calibrated by INAIL, are devices which automatically, without the assistance of energy other than that of the fluid under pressure, discharge a quantity of fluid such as to prevent the pre-established safety pressure to protect the heat generator and system. The valves are designed and built in compliance with the specifications and requirements defined in the R Collection - 2009 Edition, technical application specification of the Ministerial Decree. 1-12-1975.
The VST Series safety valves are generally used in closed circuit heating systems with a nominal power greater than 35kW and which use hot water with a temperature lower than 110°C. The function of the safety valve is to protect the generator and the system from sudden, unexpected increases in pressure. The causes of valve intervention can be of various types:
- Rise of the operating fluid temperature above the pre-set maximum value with consequent uncompensated expansion
- Insufficient sizing of the expansion tank
- Excessive circuit filling pressure
The safety valve therefore remains inactive when the system is functioning normally.
