Residual current device: the lifesaver that protects people
The Bticino Residual current device, also known as a circuit breaker, is an indispensable device for ensuring the safety of users in an electrical system. This model is designed to intervene automatically whenever it detects a current leakage to earth greater than 30 mA, protecting people from accidental contact with live parts.
Being a pure differential, it does not perform the function of overload or short-circuit protection (entrusted instead to circuit breakers), but focuses exclusively on the safety of people.
Compatibility and ease of installation
Thanks to the 2-module DIN format, the device is compatible with all major switchboards on the market. The standard connection allows quick and safe installation even in existing systems, without the need for special adaptations.
With its 2 poles (2P), it can be used in single-phase circuits, and is perfectly suitable for residential installations, offices or commercial environments.
AC type: protection for alternating current installations
The AC type is the most common version of the earth leakage circuit breaker and detects alternating sinusoidal leakage currents. This makes it ideal for most civil installations where the loads are mainly pure resistive or inductive (lights, outlets, household appliances).
It is the most popular choice in domestic installations, as it covers most of the safety requirements of current regulations.
Compact design and quality materials
The body of the switch has small dimensions (83 x 35.6 x 76 mm), with a robust and durable construction. The IP20 degree of protection allows it to be installed in dry and protected environments within the electrical cabinet.
The terminal block accepts cables up to 25/35 sq mm, providing good connection flexibility according to the system configuration.
