The Quick Press DAB 1.5bar 1.1-2.2kW Pump Control System is an on/off device that controls the start or stop of the pump according to demand. It stops the pump in case of water shortage and protects it from running dry. It can be mounted on surface pumps and submersible pumps. The device is compact and reliable, mainly dedicated to residential applications:

Supply voltage: 1x230 Vac (+/- 10%) 50/60 Hz

Max current: 12 A

Power: 1.1 - 2.2 kW

Degree of protection: IP65

Max operating pressure: 10 bar

Minimum flow rate: ≈ 1 l/min

Male connection: Gc 1'

Restart pressure value: 1.5 Bar (not adjustable)

Max operating temperature: 60°C

Certifications for potable water use: ACS and AS/NZ 4020

Installation and Startup

Quick Press can be mounted directly on the pump or between the pump and the first point of use. To make the device operational, make the electrical connections and supply voltage. Quick Press automatically starts and stops the pump based on the demand for opening and closing utilities.

In the event of a power failure, the device automatically restarts when the power returns.

Control Panel

The control panel allows the reporting of operating phases and faults:

  • POWER ON: green LED on - appliance energized
  • PUMP ON: Yellow LED lit - pump running
  • RESTART: Button for reset after an abnormality

Correct Quick Press/Pump Matching

The pump paired with the Quick Press device must meet the water demand of the system and must develop (when utilities are closed, Q=0) at least 1.5 bar more pressure than the restart pressure of Quick Press.

When there is a water demand, when the utilities are opened, the preset restart pressure (1.5 bar) in Quick Press must overcome the back pressure generated by the water column. Therefore, the restart pressure of Quick Press must be at least 0.5 bar higher than the back pressure generated by the height of the water column.

For example, in a 4-story building with an estimated height: 2.7 meters per apartment, 35 cm slab = 12 meters the restart pressure must be 1.5 bar, max pump pressure (Q=0): 3 bar.

When there is a demand for water, the Quick Press pressure decreases until it reaches the set threshold value, starting the pump at 1.5 bar. In our example, the pump starts when the starting pressure reaches 1.5 bar. If the water demand increases, the working pressure is lower. Conversely, with less water demand the working pressure is higher.

When all utilities are closed and there is no demand for water, the pump reaches the maximum pressure value (3 bar). When there is no flow, the pump stops.
