ABB Disconnector OT80G2-3BS: Safe Isolation for Panels and Three-phase Lines

The ABB OT80G2-3BS is a three-pole switch-disconnector from the OT Plus series, designed to offer simple operation and safe disconnection on three-phase lines. It is the ideal solution when you need to ensure electrical isolation of a circuit during maintenance, machine interventions, or safety procedures in a panel. The front operation makes the maneuver immediate and clearly visible, while the IP20 front protection contributes to safer management in the panel compartment.

Thanks to the 80 A size, it is perfect for distribution lines, sub-panels, disconnection of utilities, and machine power supplies where a robust and reliable command is necessary.

Quick Installation: DIN Rail or Back Plate and DIN 45 mm Hole

This model is designed for panel building: you can install it on a back plate or directly on a DIN rail, maintaining a neat and compact layout. It is suitable for panels with a 45 mm DIN hole, useful for configurations with door control or dedicated passages. The integrated screw terminals speed up the connection and make the installation more stable over time, reducing loosening due to vibrations or thermal cycles.

Practical Note: external handle and shaft are not included; they are available as accessories if external or panel door control is needed.

Flexible Wiring: Wide Compatibility with Cable Sections

The disconnector supports various types of conductors and sections, making it versatile in retrofit and new installations. For the main circuit, the following are allowed, for example:

  • 1× Flexible Cu or stranded 1,535 mm²

  • 2× Flexible Cu or stranded 1,516 mm²

  • Solid and flexible conductors with ferrule in the indicated sections (up to 6 mm² for solid 1/2x)

This flexibility facilitates integration both in compact panels and in distribution panels with larger cable sections.

Electrical Performance: Up to 800 V and High Short-circuit Resistance

With Ui 800 V and Uimp 8 kV, the OT80G2-3BS is suitable for low voltage installations with good insulation margins. The conditional short-circuit current Inc 50 kA (with 80 A fuse, 690 V) makes it suitable for installations where the fault prospect can be high. In AC-23A utilization category, it handles up to 80 A at 415 V and 40 A at 690 V, with powers up to 45 kW (415 V) and 37 kW (690 V), also ideal for disconnection in the operation of more demanding loads.
