The differential blocks are mechanically designed to prevent a wrong coupling between the block and the circuit breaker: the power of the block must always be equal or greater than that of the circuit breaker. The side plastic clamp allows a quicker assembly of the block on the circuit breaker and a push button prevents possible interventions.
It is used to protect human health in case of earth fault (electrical leakage) or phase-to-earth electrocution, thus providing protection also against macro electrical shock, both direct and indirect, on exposed persons.
The differential block type A, ensures operation for AC and unidirectional pulsating type currents.
